What I find most rewarding about my practice is helping businesses prosper and do well. I work to become intimately familiar with their business, so I understand not only the legal issues that surface, but also the company’s short- and long-term business goals. I work with my clients to make solid decisions about legal issues that also serve their objectives in the market place.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
Eric Gate is a Co founder of the firm and is also a Senior Manager with Robert Gate’s accounting, finance and management consulting practice. In this role, he has helped clients in dealing with the Ghana Revenue Authority, conducted tax health checks for corporate entities and has assisted them to comply with tax obligations under the Revenue Administration Act. Eric is an experienced chartered accountant with over 13 years’ experience in providing accounting, audit, assurance and business advisory services to clients operating in several industries both locally and internationally. Prior to joining Robert Gate s team, Eric was a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (Ghana). An experience in which he formed part of the team liquidating the defunct national carrier Ghana Airways Ltd, Plant Pool ltd etc. In this role, he also undertook several forensic investigations, business valuations, independent business reviews and due diligence projects. Eric was a Senior Manager for Audit and Assurance at A.D & Associates(Chartered Accountants) and the Finance Manager of K-Net Ltd. He is a senior manager at Synergy Management Consulting and has conducted training in Accounting, Audit and Taxation for senior management in various organisations. Eric has also served as the Manager for Audit Quality and Compliance Monitoring at the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana).
Eric is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) the UK and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG). He also holds an MSc in Oil and Gas Management from Coventry University and a BSc in Applied Accounting from the Oxford Brookes University (UK). Eric has extensive experience in accounting, taxation, audit, business restructuring, corporate finance, business planning and oil and gas.

While in law school, Mr. Gate published an article entitled “Due Process in the National Collegiate Athletic Association: Are There Any Constitutional Standards?, 41 UG L. Rev. 1651 (1994).”

Community Involvement:
Eric is active in the Southern Accra Officials Association, serving as a basketball official at all levels of collegiate and scholastic play. He serves the community as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bridge Counseling Associates, a nonprofit organization that specializes in substance abuse prevention and marriage and family therapy.
